Strain: Evergreen
Category: Hybrid
Genetics: Haze x Afghani
Patients new to medical cannabis often begin by learning the difference between sativa and indica. It can be a revelatory moment for a person in pain to discover that some strains can provide energy to get through the day, while others may provide the rest and relaxation they require to prepare for tomorrow. But what, many ask, can be expected from the “hybrid” strains on our menu that rest between these completing characteristics? To answer that question, let us take a look at the purest hybrid our menu has to offer: Evergreen.
At first glance, we expect patients will quickly pick up on the qualities that gave this strain its name. The aroma is a powerful burst of pine and sappy sweetness, while the larger flowers form into beautiful tree-shaped cones. The leaves are frosted with a snowy dusting of healthy trichomes to create a glistening flower that looks as lovely as it smells.
Genetically, Evergreen is a select phenotype of the classic S.A.G.E. strain, which was expertly bred to produce a perfect balance between sativa and indica attributes (the name actually stands for Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilirium). Its sativa side is derived from a superb Dutch Haze, while the indica half consists of historic Afghani. The result is a carefully calibrated balance that combines the uplifting effects of a good sativa with the physical symptom relief sought by patients who prefer indica.
Situated between standouts like Sour Diesel and Fire OG on our menu, Evergreen is at times overlooked, but wins converts quickly when suggested by our staff. Behind its beautiful appearance lies the essence of a truly great hybrid: a complete package with the potential to help patients with a wide range of symptoms, day or night.
