All patients are invited to our first “Meet the Author” event Wednesday, January 20th at 3 pm.
Get your list of questions together for author and medical cannabis expert Michael Backes, who will discuss his new book “Cannabis Pharmacy – The Practical Guide to Medical Marijuana.”
His easy-to-use guide may shed light on a number of areas some of you may be wondering about. Also, if you are treating specific conditions, now is an excellent time to speak to an expert to help guide you to treating symptoms.
Backes specializes in cannabis science and policy issues at a southern California consultancy, which maintains clients throughout the United States. He previously founded the first evidence-based medical cannabis dispensary. He is also active with Project CBD, a non-profit educational service dedicated to promoting research into the medical utility of cannabidiol (a non-psychoactive cannabis molecule), the International Association for Cannabinoid Medicines, and is a member of the American Herbal Products Association’s Cannabis Committee.
His book explores the cannabis strains most effective for treating various conditions; shows how to identify and describes how to prepare and store. His book also shares how best to administer, modify and control dosage.
Also included is a guide to treating 29 ailments and illnesses for which doctors commonly recommend medical marijuana, including Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.
“I became interested in medical marijuana in 2005. I suffered from a severe form of migraine and a friend mentioned that cannabis might help. I tried it and found that using very small doses a couple times per week dramatically reduced the frequency of my headaches. I wanted to find out why and how MMJ worked. I ended up becoming so fascinated that I started a dispensary in Southern California, wrote a book, and now consult around the world about cannabis science and policy.”
His book is available for purchase at Amazon.com.
