Have your summer go out with a bang Monday with Capital City Care at the first annual DC GreenLight Music and Cultural Festival Labor Day Monday!
Look for our booth at the event, bringing together various natural companies and products available throughout the Washington DC region. Join the celebration of music, natural products, cannabis advocacy, vendors, food and the gathering of over 3,000 members of DC’s fast-growing cannabis community.
Shafawn Etheridge, along with co-organizer Claudia Gomez, planned the event in an effort to bring all of the District’s top natural product vendors, artists, medical marijuana representatives and all canna-conscious entities and businesses together.
“I came up with the idea for the GreenLight Festival because I go to events and was always thinking none of these are for us, by us…the big events anyways,” said Etheridge. “I am a black woman in the canna world and it’s hard. I wanted to prove that we could get it. And we are!”
Guests can expect a variety of attractions from live art and food vendors to clothing, smoking accoutrements and other items. The event will also include access to advocacy information as well as holistic and medical marijuana community representatives and businesses. More than 20 artists are lined up to perform live music throughout the event which will be held 12 – 9 p.m. at The Perch at 3400 Georgia Ave.
“The festival will represent DC as a whole. As a community, and I can’t wait to see how the community comes together,” Etheridge said.
